How it works

Three steps from posting a role to work starting

Tell us what you need, get matched with a vetted, identity-verified Talent Partner, and start small, with protection built in at every stage.

Illustrative example. You only see full profiles for candidates matched to your role.

The three steps

What happens, and in what order

You describe the work. We verify and match. You start small, and scale once it's working.

  1. STEP 01

    Tell us what you need

Post a project or an ongoing role in minutes. Describe the work, budget, and timeline.

    • Budget
    • Timeline
  2. STEP 02

    We vet and match talent

Every profile is identity-verified with Stripe Identity, and we surface the best-fit Talent Partners from a global pool.

  3. STEP 03

Start small, scale once it's working

Begin with a single project. Funds are held via Stripe Connect and released on a schedule that matches the work. Once it's working, extend it into an ongoing role, which we call a Team Extension.

Payment protection

How payment is released

Funds are held via Stripe Connect, not paid out upfront. When they're released depends on the kind of work.

What kind of work is it?

Ongoing Team Extension

Released every 15 days
Day 0Funds held

Held via Stripe Connect, not paid out upfront.

Day 15Partial release

Part of the payment is released to the Talent Partner.

Day 30Remainder released

The rest is released.

For an ongoing Team Extension, funds are held and released every 15 days: partial at day 15, the rest at day 30. That way neither side is exposed to a full month of risk.

  • Hirers: you're never paying a full month for work you haven't seen.
  • Talent Partners: you're never working a full month unpaid.
Built-in protection

What protects you, and them

If this is your first time hiring or working remotely across borders, here's exactly what's in place.

  • Identity verification, both sides

    Both sides

Every hirer and every Talent Partner is verified through Stripe Identity before they can post a role or apply to one, so you always know who you're working with.

  • Payment protection that matches the work

    Both sides

For an ongoing Team Extension, funds are held and released every 15 days: partial at day 15, the rest at day 30, so neither side is exposed to a full month of risk. For project-based work, release is tied to agreed milestones instead.

  • A backup bench, just in case

    Hirers

For every placement, we keep a shortlisted backup candidate on file for the first 90 days. If something falls through early on, you're not starting the search from zero.

  • Replacement guarantee and a clear plan if someone goes quiet

    Hirers

If a Talent Partner goes unresponsive, a defined response window kicks in automatically, so there's no ambiguity about what happens next. If it doesn't work out early on, we'll help place a replacement.

  • Neutral dispute resolution

    Both sides

If a hirer and Talent Partner disagree on delivered work, our support team mediates fairly for both sides. It's a service everyone on WaeWork is covered by, not a deduction against either party.

Quick answers

Three things people ask next

Short answers here. The FAQ page covers verification, disputes and more.

Talent never pays to join or apply. For an ongoing Team Extension, the client pays a placement fee of one month's pay on a successful match. After that, an ongoing platform fee tapers the longer the engagement runs: 12% in months 2–6, 8% in months 7–12 and 6% from month 13, split between client and talent (or S$45/month combined, whichever is greater).

Project work is 15% of the total project value, split 10% client and 5% talent, with no separate placement fee.
